SAN FRANCISCO, CA – March 2, 2017 – At a panel presented near this year’s Game Developers Conference (GDC), veteran novice game designer Kris Straub and the Chainsawsuit Interactive development team announced the debut of their upcoming FPS/MMO/MOBA/ARPG hybrid HIERARCH®: CALL OF THE VOYANCER™. The announcement was made at a loud-enough volume that it was technically inside GDC.

HIERARCH®: CALL OF THE VOYANCER™ is an in-development, open-world, cross-genre gaming experience that seamlessly blends an intense first-person shooter, a deep and expansive massively-multiplayer online game, and hardcore MOBA tactics across an infinite, procedurally-generated world, with persistent landscape-changing events driven by both player and NPC.

Set in the unexplored hard sci-fantasy realm of Terragon, three rival factions struggle for survival in a brutal world mistaken for sanctuary. Players will choose from an ever-growing list of classes based on uniquely powerful “champions,” and are able to customize appearance, tactics, movement, armor, and even weaponry. HIERARCH® will feature player housing and settlements, a robust crafting system, and everything else you’ve come to expect from Chainsawsuit Interactive’s first title.

HIERARCH® also features Chainsawsuit Interactive’s incredible Reactal XM® technology and TrueEmergence™ behavioral AI for a world that is truly and uniquely alive. Every living thing in the game, from wildlife to NPCs, has preferences, relationships, needs and objectives that change with their surroundings and circumstances. If a town is cut off from supply lines by war or natural disaster, individual NPC inhabitants make decisions on how to get what they need. They may post bounties, seek player help by the roadside, or take the law into their own hands.

Lead designer and creator Kris Straub told the parking attendant, “Chainsawsuit Interactive may be punching above its weight – but once players experience HIERARCH®, they’ll be adding their weight to ours, and fists.”

On early comparisons to the “hero shooter” genre, Straub continued, “We’re making no compromises when it comes to HIERARCH®’s colorful-yet-mature style and innovative-yet-familiar gameplay. Calling HIERARCH® another ‘hero shooter’ is just more of the same reductionist clickbait attitude we’ve all come to expect from the lamestream media.”

Pricing, technical specs, and limited public entry into the closed pre-alpha will be announced in coming months.
